2024年1月、パリで開催していたnorbitの展示会に、Barbour英国本社の方々が訪れました。

当時、彼らがBarbourの方々だとは知らず、私はいつものようにnorbitのコレクションについて説明していました。私の話を楽しそうに聞き、時には声を上げ、満面の笑顔で喜んでくれていた姿が、今でも強く印象に残っています。

翌日、彼らは再び会場を訪れ、26AWのBarbour Heritage Lineとのコラボレーションを提案してくれました。

ハンティングやフィッシングという実用の世界から生まれ、時代を超えて変わらない定番を築いてきたBarbourは、私にとって特別な存在です。
今回のコラボレーションでは、Barbourの歴史から生まれた普遍的な要素を尊重しながら、norbitが得意とする実用的なギミックと現代的な機能を融合しました。

Barbourが長い時間をかけて守り続けてきたものと、norbitがこれからの時代に向けて進化させていくもの。

その二つの価値観が重なり合うことで生まれた、Barbour × norbitのコレクションです。

At the time, I had no idea who they were. I simply introduced the norbit collection as I normally would, explaining the ideas, functionality, and design behind each piece. I still remember how genuinely excited they were—listening with great interest, smiling, and occasionally reacting out loud as I spoke.

The following day, they returned to the showroom and proposed a collaboration with Barbour Heritage for the 26AW season.

For me, Barbour has always been a very special brand. Born from the practical worlds of hunting and fishing, it has created timeless pieces that have remained relevant through generations.

For this collaboration, we wanted to respect the enduring elements shaped by Barbour’s long history, while bringing in norbit’s approach to practical details, functional design, and the needs of today’s field.
